The Lantern Within
Wherein lies the light we seek
By Une FemmePublished about a month ago • 1 min read

What to seek for when nothing in sight?
In the never-ending sea of grief,
Clinging onto my sunken boat, my plight,
Wanton with despair, while hope seeks relief.
Why to search when the heart is half torn?
'Tis weak and frail with doubts and disbelief,
Shaken by the prevailing wind and storm,
Numbed by exhaustion and ceaseless grief.
But that light, O that lantern of guidance,
Made of crystal glass and fine silver bone,
Can chase away the darkest venomous decadence,
And pull us from the pit of brutal shun.
Shine brighter, with our rage and undying hope,
Become the light, become the lantern that never dies.
