Do you know where poems come from?

If I knew where poems came from, I'd go there.

And frollick inside of similies, until i had no air.

If I knew where poems came from, I'd go there.

And jump headfirst into a pool of hiaku's, wetting up all my curly hair.

If I knew where poems came from, I'd go there.

And build houses out of stanzas, trailing the walkway with stairs.

If I knew where poems came from, I'd go there.

And lock myself away in metaphors, hoping no one who finds me will care.

If I knew where poems came from, I'd go there.

And drink cups of syllables until I'm sitting in the kings chair.

If I knew where poems came from, I'd go there.

To tame my savage mind and show it life isn't always fair.
