The Knight

I.

This is the tale of a knight

Ever so gallant and charming

This is the tale I've longed to write

Although you might find it alarming

He is everything a knight should be

Everything and more

Down to his core

But that wasn't something he could see

II.

He rides into the battlefield fierce and unafraid

His enemies shiver at the thought of his raid

The sight of his horse galloping towards them in the distance makes them flee

Because his strength is unlike anything you have yet to see

III.

Tell me what is strength?

It is not muscle mass and length

What is valor?

We can agree it is not sickly pallor

when faced with opposition

It's getting up when you fall to complete the mission

Bloody sweat and salty tears

It does not mean you have no fears

I myself watched him charge full speed at his very fear with his sword

And later I was the one to whom his tears he poured

IV.

Not every battle is ours to win

We're all fragile humans born into sin

Don't you know?

Well let me tell you so

The greatness of this knight

was more than just his plight

His legacy is in the one who strengthens him

Yes his greatness is small compared to this One

Because the very one who gives him this strength is the maker of the great son

Yes this is the tale of a knight who put on his complete suit of armor from the most high God above

The God of comfort whom I too love

This knight is humble yet strong as Samson

Like him there are none
