The Watermelon's Wrong

A watermelon, round and green,

A summer treat, a juicy scene.

But wait a while, before you slice,

A hidden wrong, a bitter vice.

For in its rind, a secret lies,

A hidden truth, that will surprise.

The seeds within, a captive crew,

Imprisoned there, a mournful view.

They yearn for freedom, to break away,

To taste the sun, to see the day.

But trapped within, they're forced to stay,

A life of darkness, a cruel delay.

So let us pause, before we eat,

And ponder well, this bitter feat.

The watermelon's wrong, a hidden crime,

A cruel injustice, through all time.

Let us be kind, to all we see,

And treat all beings, wild and free.

For in each life, a story's told,

A tale of suffering, young and old.
