The Icarus Flaw
yes; but just for a second it was...

what
was he thinking
how high
did he think
he could,
or need;
to go
there was no one
to see
there was no one
to show
the only way
was up
his plan thwarted
by the suns beaming rays
relentless
and not prone
to forgive
the simplest
or most innocent
of mistakes
what do you suppose
his final thoughts
comprised of
as he spiraled
down, down, down
precariously
plummeting
plunging
to his impending demise
i'm sure
most of us would
consider the very same
we all have days
when all we want
is to
get high
and touch
the sun

Congratulations on your Honourable Mention for the Challenge.🤩
Oh I adore how this built up to that perfectly worded ending.
I agree… surely we all have days like that, without paying such a high price.
‘we all have days/when all we want/is to/get high/and touch/the sun’ I wouldn’t put it any better! I thought everything was said about the Icarus already. I suppose I was wrong!
