This is the tale of a prince, oh so young
Who had a nasty habit of putting everything on his tongue
Some jellies, some jams
Roast beef and grilled hams
He ate fish and salmon
Until he caused a famine
And there was no food in the land
The king was furious, and sent the boy out
“GO QUEST FOR SOME FOOD!” He really did shout
So on a journey the prince went
With no beds and no tent
He asked and he begged to all who would hear
For a snack, a drink, but none could spare a tear.
But then he met a wise old women who
Gave him a prophecy, and told him what to do
‘Climb to the top of dragon’s peak,
There you will find just what you seek’
The journey was long, set on old winding roads
He met many burglars, and even rabid toads
The prince fought a demon dressed in black robes
An young merchant beat him for not buying her globes
His three toes froze off as he marched up the mountain
But finally, at the top, he saw a great fountain
From it spewed not water by delectable delights
Pastries and cakes, and little apple bites
Then the prince saw a problem as big as a house
Compared to this food he was the size of a mouse
So how on earth could he take it all home?
He couldn’t drag it all back to Rome!
So the prince sat down, and he made a choice
I’ll make the sacrifice, boomed his loud voice
And then he ate and he ate and never did leave
And that prince is still eating, I firmly believe
