The Howling of The Wolf

A poem for the moon

By Bixi HernandezPublished 10 months ago 1 min read

I fell in love with the moon

But I'm just a human

The beauty of it's light

Oh what a mesmerizing sight

I swear when it is full

I am the ocean waves

and the gravitational pull I feel

is oh so real

What a curse it is sometimes to be human

For even if I could land on the moon

It wouldn't give me a hand to hold

So I guess I'm doomed to stay on Earth and it's beauty behold

And when I hear the howl of the wolf cry out to the moon

It feels as if it were my own

Because I am a mortal human and we will never be together
