# **The House with No Mirrors**

### *Reflections in the Eyes of Others*

There stands a house upon a hill,

Where morning light is soft and still.

A place untouched by glassy sheen,

No silvered panes, no polished screen.

No mirror hangs upon the wall,

No looking glass in room or hall.

No place to catch your weary face,

No frame to mark your time or trace.

### **The First Arrival**

A traveler came with weary feet,

Drawn by whispers, soft yet sweet.

They sought their face in candle's glow,

Yet found no glass to let it show.

"How odd," they mused, with puzzled air,

"How shall I know I'm truly there?"

A voice replied, so warm and wise,

"You'll see yourself in others' eyes."

### **The Woman with the Silver Hair**

An elder sat beside the fire,

Her eyes like embers, burning higher.

She turned to speak, her gaze so deep,

A well of love, a sea of grief.

"I once was young, my skin was fair,

My hair was thick, without a care.

But mirrors stole my fleeting years,

And left me longing, trapped in fears.

Here in this house, no glass remains,

No cruel reminders, no frozen stains.

Instead, I see in faces near,

The love I gave, the joy, the tear."

### **The Boy Who Knew No Face**

A child ran through the open halls,

His laughter bouncing off the walls.

He'd never seen his own bright grin,

Nor watched his own reflection dim.

"But how do you know you are you?"

The traveler asked, their wonder true.

He laughed and spun, with hands spread wide,

"I know because I’m seen inside."

"My mother’s eyes reflect my light,

My father’s strength, my brother’s might.

My sister’s song, my teacher’s cheer,

They see me whole, they keep me near."

### **The Lover Lost in Vanity**

A woman came with haunted gaze,

Lost in mirrors, lost in haze.

She traced her lips, she smoothed her brow,

Yet sought herself, she knew not how.

"Without a glass, how shall I see,

If beauty still belongs to me?"

The voice replied, so kind and clear,

"Let love, not mirrors, shape you here."

She looked into a stranger’s face,

And there she found her truest grace.

Not in the gleam of silver’s hue,

But in the love another knew.

### **The Man Who Feared Time’s Hand**

A scholar bent with furrowed skin,

With papers thick and ink-stained chin.

He counted days, he marked his age,

Like lines upon an ancient page.

"I fear the years, I fear the fade,

I fear the face that time has made."

The voice then whispered, calm and bright,

"Time lives not in a mirror’s light."

"Look not for youth in glass’s gleam,

But in the fire of thoughts that dream.

In words you give, in deeds you sow,

The parts of you the world will know."

### **The Traveler’s Choice**

The traveler stood at last alone,

No mirror left to call their own.

No face to check, no eyes to scan,

No proof of self in silver’s span.

They turned instead to those around,

And there a truer self was found.

In kindness shared, in moments bright,

In hands held firm, in hearts alight.

A house without a mirrored view,

Yet full of souls who saw them true.

And so they stayed, their heart made free,

For love became their clarity.

The house still stands upon the hill,

Its rooms are warm, its halls are still.

No glass to trap, no sheen to bind,

Yet faces glow with light refined.

For what we are is not confined,

To fleeting youth or lines defined.

We live in love, in words, in grace,

In those who hold us, face to face.

So leave the glass, step through the door,

And know yourself in hearts once more.
