The Horde She's Facing
Triggering Poem - Sexual Violence - Read With Care

There is a beautiful woman in France,
whose spotlight isn't art, music or dance.
Despite the depravity of her life,
how this woman is a MUSE!
She is a muse for those of us who never got justice.
She is a statue against the dark sky of fear.
She is a pillar and beacon to those in the dark.
Whose voices were growing more muted with every article.
When women were losing their ground so appeared Gisele.
She isn't trying to be heroic - but she has no idea that she is.
Because there are those of us who never got close to justice.
Despite the fear of handing DNA out on a silver platter with a name and location.
There are those of us who have lost faith in justice and the world.
And here she is - with elegance and grace.
For some of us, she embodies strength.
For some of us she represents us all.
She lived with a demon and he had a legion to pay.
But here she is... shining brightly winning the day.
And putting the 70+ legion right in their fucking place,
She's leading the horde straight back to hell.
And when it's over - I hope she knows to shed the strong shell.
When it's over and she's done stuffing the demon back where he belongs -
I hope she comes out shining and strong.
When its over, I hope she knows that she's more than a victim.
She is strength, beauty, grace and HOPE!
She is everything about a strong woman that I wish I could be.
And I pray she lives the rest of her life in beauty and peace.
Let there be justice.
Let there be progress.
Let there be healing.
Let there be love.
Let there be recovery -
F0r her and her children of 3.
This is my prayer and plea.
Gisele Pelicot is the inspiration for this... if you're behind on the times, it's really worth googling. It's a stream of consciousness poem - for all of you REAL poets out there. lol

I learned about this case last night. It's horrifying (worse than horrifying, I have no better words). This needs to be amplified, and your poem is a creative way of doing that.
Hitting "like" seems almost perverse when the topic of your poem is what it is so my cursor hovered there for a moment. I wish I had some other option! This is a horrendous case, one that can easily make you lose faith in humanity if you still had any...
This is powerful...and I have to really wonder about humanity when I hear the details of this case.
