The Home We All Share

For now

By Diana Published 4 years ago 1 min read

Sperm and egg and enough lust

The raw materials for you

An alchemical moment

Then something new

You.

In your first home, your mother’s womb

It gives life to you, sustains you

Then you are born into the planet Earth

The third planet from the Sun

The home to us all

We take her for granted because

Her love is so great, so vast that she

Absorbs all the blows we aim at her

Endures all our hate and ignorance

And continues to love us

Provide for us

Even after we bleed her dry

And burn her

To ashes

And poison her veins

She waits

Patiently

For the day

We learn

To love her back.
