The heat of my past is still alive

---poem---

By Maryam BatoolPublished about a year ago 1 min read

She said, 'Get up, or else they'll do it again'

But I thought I'll not go, It'll be a vain

They got stronger and flickered upon every bird

Every softy got trapped in that disgusting herd

I remained quiet thinking that would do

He continued to smash every small dew

A Bird did scream but she was cut bad

We wanted to tell but courage we didn't had

Now it's gettin' screwed 'cause bird was a new-born

She was small, shine , wearing a uniform

No matter now, If I die or they throw me out

I will stand for little bird , and now I'll shout

'Fear' was what held me back tight

I killed Fear, what I wronged, I'll right

We'll save little bird, we'll do what we didn't

I'll crack that ugly devil person hidden

You'll witness with your eye, You'll see our drive

Because – the heat of my past is still alive

Author's note;

I wrote this to support a little girl in my country and to pay her a tribute who has been a subject to rape

sad poetry

Beautifully written M!! Rape cases are increasing day by day and every time I hear one my life comes to a standstill. Not just because I am a girl , its also because I am a human and empathy just peaks in me. I really adore your poem girl!!

Your poem captures the journey from fear to courage beautifully. It powerfully advocates for the voiceless and highlights a critical issue with deep compassion. Thank you for shining a light on such an important topic and honoring the spirit of the little girl.
