Love is not lost with loss

Ultimately, love is pain,
A burning ache in the chest,
Shuddering sobs between breaths,
Heart pounding, tears flowing,
Love can be incredible,
But also cruel,
Demanding to be felt,
When being ripped from your grasp.
Love won't die with you,
But when you go,
A piece of me will too.
