The Heart of Water

Thoughts on opening up with a trusted person when life takes a ride of it's own.

Open up like a dam filled with water

Gushing out the pain and sorrow

With a chance of never feeling hollow

I might be flooding your mind

It's not me but the heavy rain

I tried keeping it within me

But the pouring didn't stop

Kept it long enough to fill up to the brim

I thought my heart could handle it

But with the clouds still looking grim,

Thoughts of drowning; feared my very mind

So, I let the gates open with my eyes blind.
