The Heart of a Teacher

The spirit of teaching, in a few simple verses.

By Nest LekeyPublished 5 months ago 1 min read

A teacher stands, both firm and kind,

With dreams of shaping hearts and minds.

Through every lesson, every word,

The voice of wisdom can be heard.

The classroom hums, a sacred space,

Where knowledge blooms at its own pace.

Each desk, a world of hope and fear,

A teacher’s guidance shining clear.

With chalk-stained hands, they draw the way,

Through facts and thoughts, both night and day.

Explaining truths, inspiring fire,

To help each soul reach something higher.

The books they carry, the plans they write,

The papers graded late at night.

Endless tasks, yet still they smile,

For every step is worth the while.

They see the spark in a child’s eye,

The questions asked, the reasons why.

And with each answer, each attempt,

They build a bridge for dreams unkempt.

They’re more than mentors, more than guides,

They’re pillars standing by our sides.

A source of strength when paths seem lost,

They give their all, no thought of cost.

They teach of numbers, teach of art,

But most of all, they teach the heart.

Respect, compassion, how to care,

To see the world and do what’s fair.

The years may pass, the faces change,

New students come, their lives arrange.

But in each heart, a teacher stays,

A guiding light through life’s long maze.

So here’s to teachers, brave and true,

The unsung heroes we owe so much to.

For with their love, their endless grace,

They make the world a better place.
