Compassion for Yourself, Compassion to Others

Deglazing all of your jaded memories

Instead of allowing them all to

Steep and grow adamantine

Takes a concerted effort

Rallying together

All of the

Cells within your brain

That have done their very best to protect you

Ignite them all, and call

On your most deeply rooted fortitude

Never allow cruelty to diminish your inherent softness

I am a graduate student studying anthropology and have been writing creatively for almost 20 years. I love new takes on alternative history, especially when there are fantasy or supernatural elements included.

    Beautiful! 💜

  • A beautiful message. I LOVE that your opening word was ‘deglazing’ ! 🥰 I think this is the first time I’ve seen it used in poetry and it just works!
