5.

Kickball was a scared spot

At least to us kids

If you couldn't play well

Everyone would let you know

While I'm in the infield

Tay kicked it my way

It looked easy to catch

Arms open ready to secure

Ball smacked off my chest

Even though you couldn't see

My face was bloodshot red

All the kids laughing hysterically

Larry said we should leave

But I was so livid

I needed my lick back

Running to get the ball

The runner was on second

Hungry for a little redemption

I threw it super hard

Beaming him in his face

surreal poetry
