The Great Wall Of China
They built a wall so strong, so wide,
It stretches over hills with pride.
Stone by stone, they made it stand,
To guard their cherished, ancient land.
It winds through fields, it climbs the sky,
So vast, it catches every eye.
And yes it’s true, beneath the stars,
You see it from the moon, so far.
Through snow and sun, through dust and rain,
It stands through joy, it stands through pain.
It watched as dynasties would fall,
nothing broke this mighty wall.
No engines roared, no modern tools,
Just hands and sweat and ancient rules.
They carried rocks, they gave their all,
To shape and raise the endless wall.
Now travelers come from far and wide,
To walk the path, to feel the pride.
But deep beneath the stones so tight,
Are silent stories, out of sight.
The wall still speaks without a sound.
A sleeping giant on the ground.
A thread that runs through China’s past,
Still standing tall, it was built to last.

Well-wrought! Though I should like to visit it one day, I would surmise that now is not the best time...
Love this one. Nice work! Please keel it coming.
I feel the struggles of whose who toiled to build it. Now people go their to take selfies. Nice ode to history.
