The sky the shade of The Starry Night,

You were holding onto my hand so tight,

Our pace of walk was slow,

Neither of us wanting to go,

Down the path by the river,

My bare arm brushed yours and you let out a shiver,

You looked at me with your eyes so bright,

Your hair was shining in the moon’s light,

I’ve never see you in this way before,

Completely faceted, I know I want more,

Every which way of that you shine,

For certain your heart will be mine,

In the distance there are explosions of colour,

We both know we are near the end of summer,

Standing, watching in awe,

Our night without a flaw,

The show before us so divine,

Pieces of fates design,

Two men alone across the row,

They were putting on the incredible show,

It seemed as if it were meant for us,

With neither of us in a rush,

We both knew it was bittersweet,

These feelings we have of incomplete,

At least for tonight time had no direction,

I only hope you felt full with my affection,

For tonight had been ours,

Whatever tomorrow is, is not in our powers.
