The Grand National

The Bets Re On

The Grand National

Beneath the wide and watchful sky,

Hooves thunder loud as the horses fly,

With silks that shimmer in the sunlit blaze,

They charge ahead in a vibrant craze.

The crowd's roar swells like the ocean’s tide,

As jockeys urge their steeds to glide.

Hearts race faster with each pounding beat,

In the dance of adrenaline, fierce and sweet.

From the starting gate, they surge and leap,

Chasing the dreams that they long to reap.

Wind in their manes, they gallop with grace,

In the pursuit of glory, they quicken the pace.

With every curve, the tension does rise,

Determined spirits, fierce gleaming eyes.

The finish line beckons, a fleeting goal,

A test of courage, of heart and soul.

As the crowd erupts in triumphant cheer,

A champion emerges, the victory near.

In the world of racing, where legends are born,

Each horse carries dreams, each heart is adorned.

So here’s to the racers, both horse and rider,

In the thrilling ballet, their passions collide here.

In the heart of the race, where the wild winds play,

They write a new story with each passing day.

About the Creator

Anthony Dunn

I like to unwind after work with a mug of coffee, a pen, and a writing book to create poetry. However, life often limits it all for me, and I do not get the time to unwind.
