I’ve become the girl who stares at walls

Replaying old conversations, she hopes you call

She loses time in memories thrall

Building everything up, just to watch it fall

I’ve become the girl who sees your face

Although you've left without a trace

You’re now a stranger, just empty space

She thinks, wait is it? But it's not the case

I’ve become the girl who hears your voice

Sleepy, in the morning, not her choice

She thinks she hears you in a strangers rejoice

She cracks and splinters, but makes no noise

I’ve become the girl who stares at walls

Memories dancing behind it all

An echo of pain, it seeps in at a crawl

I am the girl who stares at walls

heartbreaksad poetry
