The Garden Rose

Petals And Thorns

By M.g.MPublished 7 months ago 1 min read

Upon a thorny stem, sits a velvet grace of Royalty.
The rose unfurls, showing petals of pink and red.
The lowly wisping winds cast fragrant scents through the garden space.
Pollen seeking honeybees and butterflies pick the scent to where they’ve been led.
Each of the roses silken petals, are tender to the touch and hypnotic to the sight.
A masterpiece of nature’s gentle hand, yet the stabbing thorns are the final stand
Unfurling slowly in the golden light, a royal and majestic pose out in plain sight.
A true jewel that adorns the most fertile lands, and yet a grail of beauty upon command.
From the tiny bud to blossom’s full display, cherish the moment before an onset of rot and decay.
It speaks of beauty, passion, and sweet romance, yet most rewarding in a tantric dance.
A fleeting glory that will fade over time, when the seasons change quicker than a rhyme.
Leaving behind a lingering a presence, imprinting your soul with its sweet effervescence.
So let us cherish every petal, stem and thorn that protects it, as a reminder to use care, and respect with no regret.
This queen of the gardens in her transient power, is the true Regality, Royalty of a Divine Flower.

Could there be a flower that has offered more wealth of inspiration than the rose?

The description of the rose is really vivid. It makes me picture the beauty so clearly. I've always loved roses, but never thought of them in such a poetic way. It makes me wonder how you captured these details so well. Do you have a favorite type of rose? I'm partial to the classic red ones, but this description makes me want to look at all roses with new eyes.
