The Garden of Farewell

Farewell

By Asno AIPublished 12 months ago 1 min read

Beneath the weeping heavens, I stood,
A witness to the earth’s silent claim.
The soil, a cloak for a soul so bright,
Now whispers your name in a sorrowful flame.

O ground, soft cradle of the lifeless form,
Do you not feel the weight of my despair?
The stars dimmed their ancient glow tonight,
As I buried my heart with the one resting there.

I laid you down with trembling resolve,
Each grain of earth a verse of pain.
Yet in this act, I found strange solace,
For death, though bitter, is not in vain.

How fleeting the laughter, how swift the parting,
Like a shadow fleeing the morning light.
Yet love, eternal, clings to the soul,
Unshaken by time or the veil of night.

O beloved, though the world stands between us,
Your memory kindles a fire in me.
The body may rest in the womb of the earth,
But love soars high, unbound and free.

Let the winds carry my silent prayers,
To the One who holds all hearts in His hand.
For He is the Keeper of what I have lost,
And His wisdom is what I must withstand.

I walk away, though each step feels broken,
The weight of absence a burden to bear.
Yet faith whispers, like a quiet dawn,
That our meeting awaits in a world more fair.

So, farewell for now, O part of my soul,
You sleep in peace while I remain.
This life is but a fleeting shadow,
And reunion shall end this brief refrain.
