the garden

is hungry

By susan marie loehePublished 5 years ago 1 min read

It looks like dinnertime

bring the rot we rolled

out in the barrel

(roll out the barrel..)

The earth was so leached

it screamed for ashes

rolling with fire

and rumbling with flooded skies

Bodies laid out in number

counted as the price for ignorance

beyond grasping life further

they fly now freely ungrounded

The sky orange enough

to eat the fade

feast your eyes

this isn't yet finished

They say the outcome is unknown

the living not having met death

eye to eye just yet

the ancestors may well watch us

Dimensions gambling for a parade spot win

throwing the dice of bone

into the helix of creation

spreading starry legs wide

Focus time grasshoppers

don't raise the bar

bomb the prison instead

unleash the centuries

Pull them all deeply into your eyes

surreal poetry
