The Funny Tree

Comedy for Rootedness and Branching

By Sarah CampbellPublished about a month ago 1 min read

The knowledge that all is temporary

And transient

Provides fuel for error, mistakes that

While some may view it as embarrassment

To be avoided

The most horrific imaginings imaginable

To my own being is the

Reason being comedy

The moment of laughter is truly

The best grounding medicine while

It uplifts transcends

Gifts the laughing a moment of reprieve

Survival phenomenon

However

Trying too hard to generate a humour is

Reaching for branching in the absence of grounded roots

Humility may be requisite to the sensation of god-like levitation

Playing at cloud-level with feet on the ground

Maintaining awareness that the humanity is our nature

The power to make others laugh

What kind of drug that is itself

Again, branching without first roots

Maybe perhaps due to rotten foundation

That is nutrient deficient

Generations of rootlessness producing

Spoiled fruit that is still produced at branch

Regardless

Without pain at the root, is there comedy?

Laughter humour is with us in all times

Poignancy through bleakest darkness that

Gives way to absurdist ironies

And purest joy

A versatile product tool at our disposal

To relieve the tension of bearing with roots

Deeply burrowed long before our time for branching

Began pulling us in the opposite direction

surreal poetry

Sarah Campbell

Creating is a necessary compulsion for humans, and I am a compulsive. Not sharing is not an option. Paradox and irony inherent. Pleased to read you :)
