The Funfetti of Life

My life is a slice of Funfetti cake,

Rising and forming as it starts to bake

The sprinkles of colour throughout when it’s done

Are all the events that make my life fun

The bright Yellow pieces are memories of gold

Times spent with loved ones, the young and the old

Smiles and laughter and all moments bright

Those times our eyes danced with glee in the light

Dazzling Green glitters through the mix

The brilliance of my mind as it plays it’s little tricks

The creation of ingenuity, of art, and of beauty

The craft formed from my own brain's creativity

Deep Blue speckles the cake batter’s brightness

For all those difficult times of heart’s tightness

All the seconds wondering if I could go on

When death struck, loss and once loved gone

Blazing Orange sparkles in the dough as well

Adventures, feats, the strives in which I fell

For all the times I felt my adrenaline beat

For all the miles covered by the pounding of my feet

And romantic Red flecks of passion run through

Those are all of my life's moments with you

Every kiss, every touch, every whispered thought

Every pitter patter of my heart you sought

As I sit here and watch my life’s cake rise

I think back on each moment, each occasion and surprise

The beautiful mess of colours that form as I grow

And I know with pride this is my rainbow to show
