The Friendly Cat

Who wanted some attention

By Seema PatelPublished 9 months ago 1 min read

Looks like every critter

on this earth

needs some love,

some warmth —

If not,

why would this cat

we met in a park

come and rub against

our legs?

Why would it

roll on the concrete

and ask for a belly rub?

Why would it meow

softly, as it walked

with its tail in the air?

Of all the places,

why it acted like

hunting mice

in the star jasmine

hedge near us?

It is conveying —

I crave companionship,

I am friendly,

give me some attention

even if you are stranger,

I trust you.

An authentic poem from the soul. It shows love for animals and respect for their lives.

  • I loveeeeee cats and all animals in general. And it's the best feeling when they trust me. Loved your poem!
