Embracing Unity Without Losing Individuality in Relationships

Love one another, but let it be free, not bound. Let it flow like a vast, moving sea between the shores of your souls. Share each other's cups, but drink not from the same cup. Offer one another your bread, but do not eat from the same loaf. Sing, dance, and celebrate together, but let each soul stand alone just as the strings of a lute, though they create harmony together, remain separate.

Give your hearts, but do not hand them over to each other’s keeping, for only the hand of Life itself can hold them truly. Stand side by side, yet not too close; for the pillars of a temple are strong because they stand apart, and the oak tree and the cypress do not grow in each other’s shadow.
