The flame that does not yield when all hope seems to fade into shadow.

A twirl amidst the bitter chill, the frost of flakes drop from on high,

A memory of a familiar place, the recollection all but nigh,

Where once the days had glared so bright, the sun within the sky,

Now quenched its flame into a winters storm, the silent, unheard cry,

The days went by, the storm went on, callous and so contrite,

The heart that yearned, hope then spurned, “How long will it last, the night?”

The days of beauty, abundantly blessed, springs touch in clear sight,

The inspiration to endure this storm, the reason to wage your fight,

The memory of such vivid beauty, the remembrance of what you have yet to see,

The hope to inspire your will to push, the faith of what has yet to be,

Such is the manner of your approach, to then gain your reprieve,

Such is how you gain what you hope for, you have only to believe…
