The Flame

In your warmth I am lost

By Chris SantiagoPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

I stoked you into existence

Yet you have no real substance

I’m warmed by your radiance

Still I can’t look from your grace

With lights flitting across my face

I watch as you twist and dance

Enthralled deeply entranced

The swirling vision of heat

Provide a blissful retreat

Loosening the pasts hold

As you crackle and smolder

Carrying me to a calmer place

As you catch and quicken pace

Take care not to let you sputter and die

Feed you to a grand and righteous pyre

In the depth of your flickering flash

My doubts and worries burn away to ash

About the Creator

Chris Santiago

I've always found a bit peace and release in putting word to written medium. I'm by no means an accomplished wordsmith but I find enjoyment in it. My love for writing started from world building that being a dungeon master provided.

I've always enjoyed the relaxing and therapeutic feeling of just sitting staring into a fire, something about the flame and chaos lets me ponder and reflect with a clear head.
