The Five Gifts

The five senses, what a gift they bring,

To experience the world, to feel everything.

Sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell,

Each one unique, each one so well.

Sight is the first, it shows us the way,

Colors and shapes, in the light of the day.

The beauty of nature, the smile on a face,

Sight brings joy, to any given space.

Sound is the second, it enters our ears,

Touch is the third, it brings us to life,

The warmth of the sun, the coolness of ice.

The feel of a hug, a kiss on the cheek,

Touch brings us comfort, when we feel weak.

Taste is the fourth, it delights our tongue,

Sweet, sour, salty, bitter, or none.

The flavors of food, the taste of a kiss,

Taste gives us pleasure, that we don't want to miss.

Smell is the fifth, it awakens our nose,

The scent of a rose, the fragrance of a close.

The smell of the sea, the aroma of bread,

Smell makes us remember, what we've done and said.
