The Fear
The poem I wrote is about fear and the struggle to overcome it. It describes the feeling of fear as a constant presence that grips the heart and won't let go, and portrays it as a monster that feeds on doubts and fright. The speaker of the poem resolves to not let fear control them, and to face it down and stand their ground. They declare their determination to find the strength to be made whole and to rise above their fears, casting them out and conquering them. The poem suggests that fear can be overcome through inner strength and resilience.

Fear grips my heart and won't let go,
It's a constant presence, ebb and flow,
A heavy weight upon my chest,
A never-ending, gnawing quest.
It whispers in my ear at night,
A voice that fills me with despair,
It feeds on all my doubts and fright,
A monster that I cannot bear.
But I will not let fear control,
I'll face it down and stand my ground,
I'll find the strength to be made whole,
I'll turn this fear into a crown.
So bring on all your terrors, fear,
I'll face them head on, without a doubt,
For I am stronger than you, my dear,
I'll rise above and cast you out.
I'll conquer all my fears, I'll win,
I'll rise up strong, and start again.
