Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos

She pulls you in with a seductive smile,

you drop your defenses, moving closer,

not noticing she’s spinning all the while,

and then you see another, standing stately and supreme,

too graceful for fidgety spinning,

she takes your measure as you pass between

the spinner and cutter, genesis and revelation,

shears poised, ready to sever your thread,

after your gospel is assessed.
