The Fake Flower

No Garden Party

By Maria HernandezPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

A beautiful flower was discovered a weed

The bright, fragrant petals, misleading indeed!

How seamless it blended with the roses en masse

If not for such keen eyes, it surely would pass.

A glance and a whiff of some false adoration

In an instant succumbs to one's true detestation.

Like vile verdant vermin polluting the earth

A gardener's nuisance with nothing of worth.

Ever ready the hoe to complete the extraction

The weed has to go to their satisfaction.

No pleasing a scent could earn it a pardon

This type of thing would destroy our lush garden.

No, not even a beautiful weed that looks like our flowers

Will be allowed in this garden of ours.
