The Facade

The Masks She Wears

The Masks She Wears

As the day unwinds,

She looks within herself and finds,

The many faces that she has to wear.

Truly, it is hard to bare.

The first mask, let's call her woman.

She is strong, beautiful, intelligent, and she is only human.

Her children give her the second mask, we shall call her mom.

She is a superhero, a healer, and she is always calm.

Stern when needed,

But never underestimated.

The third mask is seen only by her lover.

In the dead of night and undercovers.

She can be a temptress, an empress, a queen of her home.

She can be solitary, a hermit, alone.

When she works she is efficient and on time.

When she is sad, there is usually no reason or rhyme.

Every mask she wears has a purpose.

What mask is yours? I'm sure there is a surplus.

Be true to yourself.
