A nagging tug on the heart and mind
A sunset particularly colorful and fine
Watching the purples and oranges and blues
Drift down towards the Gulf in a burst of hues
Then retire into the calm before the storm
While slowly sadly driving away
The eve of that tragic September day
I witnessed a strange and magical scene
A dozen sirens gathered on the white sand
Making their final and most seductive stand.
