The Eternal Moth Myth

The moth seeks the flame

It has become a type of lore

Apart of songs, stories, and oracles

As no one thought to check

If it was the actual truth

A quick search would lead you to realize

The moth does not want to be

by the lantern's flame

Tales want us to believe they wanted it

or put themselves there

when they are actually confused

the light stops them from moving on

Trying to find a way back where

they can actually see

They buzz around as much as they can

while others stay believing they want to be there

so the next time I see a moth stuck by a lantern flame,

I will guide them to less confusion

even if I am the only person

who ever figured out the truth.
