The Eternal Light

A Poetic Reflection on Faith and the Divine Journey

By COUPublished about a year ago 3 min read

In the quiet hush of morning’s glow,
Where whispers of the spirit flow,
A call transcends the bounds of time,
A sacred song, a verse sublime.

From ancient sands where prophets walked,
To mountain peaks where wisdom talked,
The threads of faith, a tapestry spun,
Uniting hearts beneath the sun.

The temple bells, the mosque’s soft prayer,
The chants that rise on sacred air,
The church’s hymn, the shrine’s incense,
All echo love, a shared presence.

Through deserts vast and oceans deep,
Where shadows fall and angels weep,
A guiding light, a holy flame,
Calls every soul by its true name.

The scrolls, the scriptures, carved with care,
Teach lessons vast, beyond compare.
Of love and justice, truth and grace,
And finding God in every face.

In moments still, when doubt takes hold,
And darkness looms, both vast and cold,
Faith whispers soft, a gentle plea,
“Have courage, child, and walk with me.”

The heavens vast, the stars align,
A cosmic hymn, a grand design.
Each galaxy, each comet’s flight,
A testament to boundless might.

The rivers flow, the forests grow,
The winds of heaven gently blow.
Each grain of sand, each drop of rain,
Proclaims the divine, time and again.

Yet faith is not a path of ease,
It tests the heart, it bends the knees.
Through trials fierce and fires bright,
The soul ascends to seek the light.

A beggar prays with empty hands,
A king kneels low in gilded lands.
Both seek the same eternal grace,
United in their holy chase.

The child’s laughter, pure and sweet,
The elder’s wisdom, sure and deep,
Reflect the sacred in their ways,
Through fleeting nights and endless days.

Each creed, each tongue, a different song,
Yet all to one great truth belong.
The forms may differ, the paths may wend,
But to the Source, all journeys tend.

The doubts that rise, the wars that scar,
Cannot eclipse the guiding star.
For faith endures, a quiet stream,
That feeds the roots of every dream.

In service humbly rendered true,
In acts of kindness, old and new,
The divine is found, a shining face,
In every heart, in every space.

The call to prayer, the sacred word,
The psalms, the chants, the songs unheard,
Are bridges built across the divide,
To bring all souls to love’s great tide.

Yet faith demands the heart to see,
Beyond the walls of you and me.
To break the chains, to heal the pain,
To build a world where peace may reign.

The candle burns in darkened halls,
Its flicker soft, yet never falls.
A symbol of the light within,
A beacon strong, though times grow thin.

The pilgrim walks, the seeker dreams,
The sage reflects, the river streams.
Each plays a part, each takes a role,
In the grand symphony of the soul.

The heavens watch, the earth does spin,
The divine resides both out and in.
In every star, in every tear,
In every hope, in every fear.

So let us bow, with hearts unbound,
To the sacred truth that we have found.
That love is God, and God is near,
A presence vast, both bright and clear.

Through every faith, in every creed,
The divine fulfills each soul’s deep need.
The names may change, the words may part,
But all paths lead to the divine heart.

And when the journey comes to rest,
Each soul will find it has been blessed.
For in the seeking, we have grown,
And found the sacred as our own.

Oh, faith, eternal, vast, and wide,
You guide us through the changing tide.
A beacon bright, a song of grace,
The divine light in every place.
