He looked up at her at the end of the winding staircase
Poised in her glory the dangling earrings firm at their base
She looked at him he looked at her
The talks lingered emotions did stir
Sweet talks they did and stared on and on
Just like that they didn't know the time that had gone
Something sparked what was the matter
They believed they could walk through life together
towards each other a step they took
Hoping to be closer as they should
But the bewitched staircase each step took them further away
He and her both had been held in the magic's sway
She grew beautiful just when he thought it wasn't possible
He wasn't so lucky , his charm faded slowly his sweet tongue became babble
Each step they took the staircase widened and he changed before her eyes
Neither the inner beauty nor the grandeur nor his beautiful ties
Before long when the staircase stopped widening and didn't binge
He had become a sight anyone who saw him would cringe
A monster was he flaring fire and grunts
The sound was defeaning the sound of his rants
Would she run from the monster that she could see
Or be with the man with whom her heart wanted to be
The winding staircase had played his turn
She grew beautiful but he got the burn
But there were those eyes the beautiful ones looking at his miss
She reached up to him lifted her heels and silently gave him a kiss
Tears in the his / the monsters eyes it wouldn't
ever be dry
Was that a lovers kiss or her kiss goodbye
