The Endless Road

A journey through shadows, faith, and the restless search for freedom.

The Endless Road

Shadows drift across the hood,

a restless silence fills the night.

Moments fracture like broken glass,

time slipping through

the cracks of my hands.

Dreams unravel in slow collapse,

the life I clutched dissolves to mist,

fading the way

fog surrenders

to the rising sun.

~

I think of yesterday,

I think of now—

how easily the map became a riddle,

how quickly the path

became a prayer.

A demon whispers from the passenger seat,

a God listens somewhere above.

In my mirrors,

fires burn and twist;

ahead of me,

the sky is filled with smoke.

~

Where do I turn,

when each direction feels like sin?

I stand without moving,

yet feel myself falling—

the roar in my ears

drowns out the birds,

the trembling leaves,

the ordinary world.

My mind says drive on,

my heart says stay.

The gearshift waits beneath my hand,

the pedal aches beneath my foot.

~

Am I balanced

on the edge of the cliff,

or already tumbling down?

Is this breath my last,

or the first of many

on a road that does not end?

If I keep driving,

will I escape this drowning air,

or only circle deeper

into myself?

~

So I lower the windows—

let the wind cut through my doubts.

I turn the radio louder,

until the music carries me forward.

Freedom waits somewhere

beyond these clouds,

painted in the blue

of a sky I’ve yet to see,

shining over places

my soul has never touched.
