My home is now an empty nest,

You've all grown up,

Gone;

On a journey to start your lives,

My eyes shall not be wells of sadness,

Though empty,

This nest is a little box,

Filled with memories precious,

Little feet dancing in the sun,

Tiny clothes you wore with pride,

Small shoes leave footprints in my heart.

Dance your way through life,

My dear children;

The stars shine for you,

Leave nothing but joy in this world;

I feel as sad as a rainy day,

As I stare at this empty nest,

But your future is not mine to keep,

And now;

I must let you fly.
