The Empty Head

The Empty Thoughts They Killed My Mind

The Empty Head

As they cattle pronged my swollen head.

By morning light, my thoughts were dead.

Tied down tight, I shook in pain,

Dreams were gone, only fear remained.

They whispered mercy through the dirt,

Fed me pills that made it worse.

The truth just twitched behind my eye,

While voices laughed from vents up high.

Needles preached into my skin,

Flooded me with storms within.

I saw the mirror break apart,

It showed no soul, it had no heart.

I scratched the walls with bloody nails,

Wrote prayers that always seemed to fail.

They pinned my shadow to the floor,

And locked me behind a heavy door.

Time walked backwards, dripping red,

While something crawled inside my bed.

I begged the dark to take me in,

It just smiled with a wicked grin.

They cattle pronged my head again,

Till all the bad was dead within.

But something worse came back that night,

It wore my face, but its eyes weren’t right.

It sang soft songs through broken glass,

And fed on silence as hours passed.

It walked around inside my skin,

And laughed at nightmares from within.

It watched me fall, it watched me break,

And whispered soft, “This is your fate.”

No escape, no peace, no light,

Just shadows dancing through each bite.

To me this sounds like a nightmare that nobody would like. Good job.
