The ego

The ego and loneliness

By Emby LatPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

The ego's voices are silenced when it is alone,

when there is no one to praise or acclaim it,

when there is no one to compare it

with to prove its simulated superiority and

its sick need for identification.

The flame of the ego is extinguished when,

in silence, it suspects its imposture

and the armor is removed in sincere surrender.

When desires become ghosts,

and what it craves becomes fantasy,

the ego disappears and one can be with oneself.
