Hello! Hello?
Hi there!
I stand on my inner walls,
Calling out.
My door is open.
My interest caught.
I fear stepping out too far,
But I want to drag them in.
I see you have sturdy walls,
Much like mine.
Still, might you step this way?
You may bring your walls with you!
I am already intrigued.
Let me see more of your world,
Your life.
Ask me anything,
I’ll answer as best I can,
Or direct you to a piece elsewhere that explains better.
Will you be my friend,
Guarded One?
I don’t want to be the only one invested.
You can walk away if you’re scared.
You just need to use your words with me.
Please won’t you come this way?

It's a very nice insight into how hard it can be to let someone in. We all put up walls of different kinds because we're scared to show our true selves. Many of us were hurt by people we thought we could trust and now find it hard to trust again. Yet even after that we still want to form connections, just with the right people. I feel this piece helps capture that feeling well.
