The Doctor Can’t Mend My Heart

Is there nothing I can do?

The Doctor Can’t Mend My Heart

I took my heart to the doctor,

I said, “Repair it, please, won’t you?

He sighed and shook his weary head,

My dear, there’s nothing I can do.

It’s far too broken, torn apart,

The cracks run deep, they can’t be sealed.

No bandage, stitch, or healing balm

Can make this fragile heart be healed.

I carried my heart back home that day,

Its pieces scattered, sharp and bare.

I placed them gently on the shelf,

Unsure of how to mend them there.

The days went by, the weeks grew long,

Yet still I felt its aching song.

But in the quiet, I heard a voice,

To heal this heart, you have a choice.

“Forgive the pain, release the past,

Let love flow in, and hold it fast.

For hearts, though fragile, can repair

With hope, and someone who will care.”

So piece by piece, I stitched with grace,

And found new strength in every space.

The cracks now shimmer, lined with gold,

A story of love, a heart grown bold.

caught a tear making its way down my face while reading this.. Facing it all, letting go, it's not easy to do but it is worth it in the long run. Thank you for sharing :)
