The Disappearing Process

The 68-year Plan

By Jim DunnPublished 5 months ago 1 min read

One. Through fervent procreation. Whether planned or a lark. A seed is planted. You plot your escape from the womb.

Two. Carried and born. Needing love for years. Like a plant that’s thirsty or overfed. You grow to fill the room.

Three. You stretch beyond the walls. Heed other calls. You find a place. Make mistakes. So, this is how you bloom.

Four. Learn and find your passion. Work for joy, not to cash in. It is your world for you to consume.

Five. This work is now a chore. With every project completed, they bring you more. Squander time and build a rec room.

Six. Feel this idea is worth repeating. Bring more into this world. But bills and heartache loom.

Seven. They pass you and forget. Alone in your anger and regret. You start dreaming of the tomb.

Eight. Find it. Gone. A meager turnout. One week later. Disappear. The world subsumes.
