The Dilemma Of A Chaotic Mind
The struggle mid-decision

Stay or go — left or right?
The pros and cons - the easy escape or stay and fight?
Black or white?
Today or tonight?
**
There’s balance in thought,
Until a change of heart,
Run with hopes and dreams,
Or the certainty that’ll last?
**
Round and round,
The answer swims,
The decision is made,
No, no, no — that’s based on a whim.
**
Walk it out,
Run the elusive or waltz the spontaneity?
Go with the gut, or wander through one’s heart,
The realms of dreams or today’s reality?
**
Chaos rules the emotions, the mind,
The invading whisper in one’s head,
Yes, no — no, yes,
Oh dear stupidity; no, no, yes instead.
**
The answer arrives, a welcome intrusion,
A sigh of blessed relief,
Oh, but hang on just a darn fine minute,
Have you inspected this new belief?
**
Back to the beginning; no, but the end is nigh,
The chaos continues, thoughts come out to play,
Stymied and stunted, stooped and shoddy,
Luckily tomorrow’s a brand new day.
About the Creator
Colleen Millsteed
My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.

Yep, pretty much my thought process.
Life in a nutshell, very relatable, a great piece.
This was so relatable. And when tomorrow arrives, it's a different day, but same shit, lol. Loved your poem!
