The destruction of the chieftain.

Songs were song upon the land, the mourning widows cries,

Strength deterred, weakened hand, unsuccessful despite the tries,

The attempts to kindle hope within the heart, the storm clouds within the sky,

Letting go, setting apart, such news was all but nigh,

Soldiers brought the casket filled, bells began to ring,

Prayers uplifted as hearts were stilled, music of sorrow to sing,

“Fallen, fallen!” was the out cry of the bard, his voice was likened unto a scorpions sting,

Flowers spread upon his body, lilies, roses, and nard, “Fallen, fallen, fallen is our beloved king!”

“As a lion in the prideland, as a soldier towards his keep,

As a general with a mighty hand, as a father paying a price, so steep!

With valiant effort, he rose against and shattered our raging foes,

But treachery within the ranks caused our heart such woes!

Fallen, fallen, fallen was the warrior king!

Let songs be written of his sacrifice, let the bells surely ring,

Fire volleys of arrows blazing true within the realm of night,

Let us remember his sacrifice, how he waged his faithful fight!”
