The Depths of Self-Inflicted Fury.

Thou canst not think worse of me than I do of myself. ____Robert Burton

By Daniel AdemuagunPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

Have you ever felt a storm raging within?

A tempest born of your own shortcomings,

Where no scapegoat exists but your own reflection.

Have you ever felt a hurricane of self-reproach?

A whirlwind that renders the mirror unbearable,

Leaving shards of shattered confidence in its wake.

Have you ever felt a volcano of emotion?

An eruption beyond the realm of language,

Yet the weight of remorse burdens your soul.

Have you ever felt a flood of tears?

A deluge that speaks volumes of defeat,

Confirming your status as naught but a defeated soul.

For there exists no fury greater than that self-inflicted,

A wrath that whispers, "I thought I knew better, yet here I stand, a mere folly."
