Beneath the stars, where tempests lie in sleep,
Cetus drifts slowly through the darkened tide.
The sea remembers what it cannot keep.
A shadow coils where ocean trenches weep,
His breath a hush where drowned stars once did bide
Beneath the stars, where tempests lie in sleep.
No hero’s blade can pierce the silence deep,
Nor silence myths the heavens still confide.
The sea remembers what it cannot keep.
Andromeda, in chains, begins to weep,
While winds above and waters both divide
Beneath the stars, where tempests lie in sleep.
Time turns, and even gods no longer reap
The truths that Cetus carries in his stride.
The sea remembers what it cannot keep.
His gaze is fixed where light and memory seep,
A nameless depth where destinies have died
Beneath the stars, where tempests lie in sleep,
The sea remembers what it cannot keep.
About the Creator
E. C. Mira
I’m a poet at heart, always chasing the quiet moments and turning them into words. Most of what I write is poetry, but every now and then inspiration pulls me in new directions.
