I’ll try my hand, if I may,

As love and elation is in the air today,

At summing up the beaming in my heart,

Hoping these words, from your mind, will never part.

-

My affection for you is streaming live,

Each moment of ours, a reel in my head,

Like our first time out on scenic drive,

Where I would have had no one else in your stead.

-

I would say Cole said it best in the song,

As truly to me , “O is for the only one I see”

And every time you’re next to me,

I know my feelings can’t be wrong,

-

Your eyes glowed brighter than the lights of any fair,

No one else’s can compare,

Out of all the gazes I could pass by and see,

Getting lost in yours was, without a doubt, meant to be.

-

Above all else, may you always remember,

I love you, now and forever.

Author note: This poem was requested by a dear friend for his girlfriend as a Valentine's Day gift. The words are mine, but the experiences behind them are all theirs. Now, the poem will live here, as a testament to their love. Long life to you both.
